RE: Suburban Hot Water Heater

Camping Dutchman. Mine is different and you might look at yours too and see if they are the same. On mine, inside the trailer, where all the buttons are for the slides, tank levels and so on, there is a button to turn on the propane on the hot water heater but to turn on the electric, you have to go outside, open the hot water heater cover and there is a switch on the bottom left side of the hot water heater. You almost can't see it. Not sure why they didn't bring both switches inside is beyond me.
Mine is the same, propane in the cabinet and electric outside. I know where the switch is, same as my other one.
THANK YOU

RE: Suburban Hot Water Heater

On our new Cedar Creek, we only have one switch for gas. I was told the electric comes on automatically when plugged in as long as the switch on the unit was on. So I would say if your plugged in(in my case) and hit the water heater switch, it would be running on both.. Our old MH we had tywo switches and ran both and never had an issue, till my son hit the electric one after I drained the tank... That was a minor issue of new element and fuse link.

RE: Steel vs Aluminum truck bed fuel tank...which is best?

rust on the steel and inside tank may be an issue.
I've been running a steel tank for 12 years without any problems with rust.
Denny
Thats why i said MAY BE and issue. We have had issues with steel tanks used to refuel machines with rust debris.

RE: Closing truck plant

Hopefully Obama will be able to change the trade laws to make it unprofitable for our companies to take their manufacturing out of the country anymore. Loss of manufacturing in this country is killing our future.
Need to fix the labor force and their huge demand for funds and benefits. They take it outside the US to lower their labor costs. Maybe the american worker needs to lower their pride and daily rate and help industry, instead of making demands!

RE: Formally known as Teton Homes

Thats the beauty of having multiple LLC's and names, you can close one down and keep the other going if you want, and even 'sell off assets". Great shell games. Maybe the RV market was just that unprofitable for them.

RE: forest river

We have only had some minor trim items popping off during travel, reset and glued back on. Otherwise been a great unit, no issues and very responsive company when I had questions before purchasing.

RE: Rt. 78 in NJ and Pa.

They are taking samples from it, I thought my teeth were gonna fall out this past weekend, some of the woopie do's made my daughter laugh like a roller coaster ride. After NJ it is much better! It is only for a few miles my teeth chattered.

JTRV Elepahant feet

Well the inevitable happened, we lost one jack pad and through my internet search I found the "elephant feet" from JT RV. Anyone have any experience with them? Are they worth the money for the set? I see when you buy a set you get free pads for them as well.
Just looking for some input.

RE: About the time time you've see it all ....

As a parent of four kids and understanding that hiding under the truck, is not the safest, but still happens when a game is going on. I would say you did the right thing to clear your conscience, the mother acknowledged and you can sleep well knowing that you said something and made them aware. When we are home my kids think riding on their belly on a skateboard under the fifth is the greatest, especially when the dog crawls under too...

RE: Any thoughts (good/bad) about the Good Sam Club?

We bought the life membership 3or 4 years ago. I am under 40, belong to a Chapter of younger families, use Good Sam Campgrounds and have used the opt out, so I don't get spam or other mail, it only takes a minute. I have already paid off my $299 initial fee in discounts over the past three/four years. If a campground doesn't honor it, send the recipt to California and you will get a check back. I thik it is a great club, the chapters, the Samborees, the discounts are more than just 10% off at campgrounds. Check the website, you have auto repair, Disney ticket discounts. As with everything, if you use it, it's worth it, but it is a whole lot more than just 10% off camping.....
